PEO portal introducing multi-factor authentication (MFA) to enhance user data security

UPDATE

To better secure and protect Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) licence holder and applicant data, PEO is implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) to access the PEO portal.

MFA adds another layer of security to your online PEO portal account. Verifying your identity using a second factor (like your phone or email) prevents anyone but you from logging in, even if they know your password.

MFA will be applied to all PEO licence holder and applicant online profiles on the PEO portal. Over the next few weeks, you will receive an email with instructions on how to complete the MFA setup. Please take time to complete the process. For additional support, you can find PEO portal FAQs here: https://peo.on.ca/knowledge-centre/frequently-asked-questions/portal-faq

When MFA is fully rolled out, you will not be able to login to the PEO portal without using your phone or email for extra authentication. MFA is becoming more common and is an online security best practice. You may have already experienced it with your bank, CRA, email provider, etc.

Thank you in advance for supporting our commitment to security.
