Rana Tehrani Yekta, EIT

Willowdale-Thornhill Chapter

A structural engineering graduate of the University of Waterloo and a member of PEO’s Willowdale-Thornhill Chapter, Rana Tehrani Yekta has gained experience as an engineering intern at WSP, a Canadian multinational professional services firm. At WSP she demonstrated good leadership potential, leading tasks and assignments at both WSP’s structural engineering and building sciences groups. She is currently an engineering intern at Read Jones Christofferson—a civil engineering firm specializing in structural engineering, restoration, building science and parking planning services.

Tehrani Yekta has illustrated strong leadership through her volunteer work with the Willowdale-Thornhill Chapter, especially around her efforts advocating for women, education and the engineering profession. Some of her volunteer leadership highlights include: chairing the chapter Education Committee; serving on PEO’s two-day Education Conference organizing committee; serving on the chapter Engineering Scholarship Review Committee; serving as a mentor for Engineer-In-Residence program; serving as vice-president of marketing for the University of Toronto Business Association; and serving as president of the University of Waterloo Civil and Environmental Engineering Graduate Association.
