Arthur B. Johns

In 2002, Engineer Johns celebrated forty years of service with the consulting engineering and management firm, Morrison Hershfield. Over the years, under the direction of Mr. Johns, Morrison Hershfield has grown from a small Canadian firm to a North American entity. It is the outstanding business acumen, entrepreneurial talents and sound management practices exhibited by Mr. Johns that have guided the firm through economic upturns, downturns and periods of rapid growth. In addition to managing and directing a 450 person consulting firm, Mr. Johns has served the profession and his community. On the professional side, he served PEO as Councillor, member of the Conflict of Interest Committee, Chair, NAFTA Task Force, member and then chair, Professional Practice Committee, member Consulting Engineering Designation Committee and member of the Discipline Committee. Mr. Johns was admitted to the PEO Order of Honour (1987) and the Order of the Sons of Martha (1987). He continues to be active on the Board of Directors of the Consulting Engineers of Ontario acting as Treasurer as well as Chair of the Business Practice Committee. Mr. Johns is involved in the Iron Ring Ceremony at Ryerson and the University of Toronto. He is active in his church and has been a strong advocate for such charities as the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. He has acted as Director for the Broadview Foundation.
