PEO has introduced login changes to the PEO portal that affect individuals using phone numbers outside of the North American +1 country code. Going forward, users accessing the portal using non-North American phone numbers will no longer be able to access and verify their account login using SMS text message. They may continue to verify their account by email or by downloading and using either:
- OKTA Verify authentication app (android or apple download); or
- Google Authenticator authentication app (android or apple download)
Since 2022, PEO requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) for users to access their PEO portal account. MFA is a security process that requires users to provide two verification factors to gain access to their PEO account. It helps protect against unauthorized access by adding an extra layer of security beyond just a password.
Users with North American phone numbers may continue to choose from all available MFA verification options: email, SMS text message and OKTA Verify or Google Authenticator.
All portal users may change their MFA verification preferences at any time by logging into the portal, navigating to the Profile tab, selecting “Change MFA Option” and enrolling in the desired MFA option.
