It is with deep sadness that we share news of the passing of PEO Councillor Peter Cushman, P.Eng.

Peter served on PEO Council as an East Central Region councillor and was committed to defending professional self-regulation while preserving the public interest.

He played a critical role in PEO’s ongoing efforts to identify, study and address issues of systemic racism and discrimination that fall within our mandate, serving as the inaugural chair of our Anti-Racism and Discrimination Exploratory Working Group, which was created in 2020. At the local level, he made a positive impact both on the public and the greater engineering community as a member of the board of our York Chapter. Professionally, he was a well-recognized engineer who contributed to the advancement of the fields of cellular networking, cyber-security and fraud management.

PEO expresses its sincerest condolences to the Cushman family.

Peter will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

A celebration of Peter's life will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 4 - 6 pm at the Richmond Hill Sheraton Hotel, Thornhill Room. 600 Highway 7 (Highway 7 and Leslie).
