Licence suspensions for PEAK non-compliance begin Monday, November 10, 2025

UPDATE

PEO has announced the introduction of licence suspensions, pursuant to section 51.2 of Regulation 941 under the Professional Engineers Act, for licence holders who fail to comply with the mandatory 2025 Practice Evaluation and Knowledge (PEAK) continuing professional development program.

On Monday, November 10, 2025, licence holders required to complete the mandatory 2025 PEAK program who have not completed the first two PEAK requirements risk having their licence suspended. The two requirements, the Practice Evaluation and Professional Practice Module, were due on January 31, 2025.

To complete the program, visit the PEAK section of your PEO portal account at: https://secure.peo.on.ca. To view your completion statuses, visit the Awards tab on your PEAK page.

Consequences: A suspension will have the following consequences for your licence:

  • Your licence suspension will be noted on the public PEO directory.
  • You cannot practise professional engineering, including using your licence seal.
  • You cannot assume responsibility for professional engineering work, including supervising or taking responsibility for engineering work performed by others.
  • You cannot refer to yourself as a licence holder or use your designation (P.Eng. or LL).
  • You cannot be a licence holder associated with a Certificate of Authorization under section 47 of Regulation 941.
  • You cannot hold a Consulting Engineer designation.

As a reminder, the 2025 PEAK program began on January 6, 2025. It has three requirements:

  1. Practice Evaluation (which was due on January 31, 2025);
  2. Professional Practice Module (which was due on January 31, 2025);
  3. Continuing Professional Development Report, which is due on December 31, 2025. (This element applies to practising licence holders who are assigned CPD hours or non-practising licence holders who opt in to complete CPD hours.)
