Today, we mark the solemn anniversary of the 1989 murder of fourteen women – 12 of whom were engineering students – at Montréal’s École Polytechnique. Ten more women and four men were also wounded in the attack. The tragedy continues to remind us of the devastating toll of gender-based violence and the urgent need to confront misogyny in all its forms.
