PEO shares updates after every Council meeting. Our goal is to encourage and assist licence holders to become more familiar with the work of Council, the board of directors of their self-regulating profession. It is intended to highlight a few, illustrative items that may be of interest. Licence holders are invited to review the full detailed meeting package available on our website and to provide regular feedback to PEO on issues of concern to them.
575th Meeting of PEO Council
PEO Council met on February 20, 2026. You may view the meeting agenda and package here. A link to the audio recording and a disposition of motions from the meeting will be posted on the PEO website as soon as it is available.
575 Council decisions/discussion:
- Governance Scorecard review (page 80): Council accepted proposed changes to indicators reported in PEO’s Corporate Strategic Scorecard. Introduced in 2024, the scorecard reports on 12 indicators connected to our regulatory operations, policy, finance and strategy and organizational culture functions. It supports governance oversight of our operations by reporting on organizational health. The changes include:
- Removing the Updated Standards and Guidelines and 30 by 30 Licensure Rate indicators (both will continue to be reported in the CEO/Registrar’s report).
- Adding the Licensed Practice Complaint Resolution Time within Target and the Unlicensed Practice Enforcement Resolution Time with Target – Reduced Risk Cases indicators.
- 2026 AGM Member Submissions Guide (page 97): Council approved the revised “Guide for Member Submissions at the Annual General Meeting”. The guidelines were last updated in February 2024 and remain largely unchanged. Staff will post the revised guide on the website in preparation for the 2026 AGM.
- CEO/Registrar’s report: PEO CEO/Registrar Jennifer Quaglietta, P.Eng., MBA, ICD.D, delivered her report to Council,:
- Over January/February, the CEO/Registrar spoke at several events, including as keynote at the xChange Conference hosted by Engineers Without Borders (EWB) Canada, and as a panelist at the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Conference.
- Our new Canadian P.Eng. mobility application process (launched in December) offers licensure decisions within 10 business days and an Ontario P.Eng. seal.
- The 2026 PEAK program launched in January. About 78,000 licence holders must complete the program this year.
- We are developing high-level business requirements for PEO’s EIT 2.0 program while awaiting government approvals.
- Our social media performance since 2023 has shown steady year-over-year growth in both follower count and engagement, indicating that our content is increasingly resonating with audiences.
