Roy Edward (Ted) Sims, P.Eng., has been involved in his community since graduating in engineering in 1950. He became an active member of the Whitby Rotary Club, the Building Committee of the Whitby General Hospital, and worked on community projects such as the restoration of old county buildings as part of the Town of Whitby Centennial project. He participated in the restructuring of the Victoria County administration and in the formation of the Regional Municipality of Durham. He has played a leadership role in the Ontario Good Roads Association and the Municipal Engineers Association. Engineer Sims has mentored many young engineers in both their professional and personal lives.
