Member of the Order of Honour, 2025 | Sudbury Chapter
A passionate and determined supporter of the engineering profession, Mehwish Obaid has been a model volunteer and leader in both her chapter and community for 11 years.

She also helped refine the GLP program by providing advice and feedback to improve outreach practices.

On the scholarship committee, she created the awards criteria, communicating it to area schools, and accepting/evaluating applications. On the education committee, she is very active organizing STEM events and outreach to young students. And as a member of the CLC task force, she helped organize the 2023 conference agenda, workshops and networking opportunities.
And as chapter chair since 2022, Mehwish has been instrumental in providing professional development and networking opportunities for members, organizing events and finding seminar/workshop speakers. She has done a tremendous job planning events and supervising the work of chapter volunteers.
