This presentation explores the evolving landscape of modular construction from a technical, code, and practice perspective. It highlights the emerging trends, compliance pathways, and practical considerations related to standardization and certification that shape the successful delivery of modular projects. This session aims to build a shared understanding of the future of modular construction in Ontario.

Reza Mirza Hessabi, Ph.D., P.Eng., PMP

Reza received a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Toronto. Dr. Reza M. Hessabi is an experienced consulting structural engineer who has contributed his expertise to a wide range of projects, including residential and commercial mid- to high-rise buildings, both locally and internationally. He currently serves as a Code Development Advisor at the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, where he plays a key role in developing new provisions for the Ontario Building Code and has a deep understanding of complex building regulations. In addition, he is a member of the PEO Academic Review Committee (ARC), actively participates in various national standing committees and CSA standards and teaches engineering courses at the University of Toronto.
