In this presentation, Roy will discuss CITYROVER’s experience building technologies in collaboration with government authorities to better maintain government infrastructure and support safe and reliable public mobility. CITYROVER technologies currently power various aspects of operations of municipal governments that represent more than 16% of Canada’s population. The presentation will cover different AI based surveying and inspection technologies which were designed, developed and implemented over the past few years and their improvement over the current state of the art. The presentation will also include lessons learned and approaches used to effectively prototype and launch technology products and solutions.

Roy Tal, P.Eng.
Chief Technology Officer, CITYROVER
Roy Tal is an accomplished Professional Engineer with more than two decades of experience in engineering, technology, operations, and management. As the CTO of CITYROVER, Roy oversees the company’s strategic direction, partnerships, projects, and investments in artificial intelligence and smart city technologies. Roy actively participates in CITYROVER’s research in the area of artificial intelligence and is a named inventor on CITYROVER’s growing AI patent portfolio. Roy enjoys collaborating with professionals in the public sector on developing and testing new approaches to apply AI and digital transformation, and his work has supported CITYROVER and its municipal partners in collectively achieving over 30 innovation awards to date. Roy graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Computer Engineering.
