This presentation will cover the engineering complexity and challenges involved in refurbishing a nuclear reactor, particularly focusing on CANDU reactor systems. It compares the difficulty of designing a nuclear reactor versus rebuilding one after 30 years of operation.

Our Speaker:


Mina Nozohouri, P.Eng., B,Eng., M.SC., PMP

Mina Nozohouri is a Project Manager at Ontario Power Generation in Pickering, Work Management Department in RFBR (Retube, Feeder and Boiler Replacement) project. As a Manager, Online Scheduling (Pickering), she managed site work schedule preparation, resource balancing, interface processes, and data provision for performance monitoring. At the SMR project in Darlington New Nuclear Plant, she served as Project Leader for Security System design and Fire Protection System, coordinating with vendors, designers, municipalities, regulators, and agencies. At Darlington, she led a matrixed team delivering Units 1,3,4 RFR scope, including instrumentation tubing, reactor containment, and flow/temperature sensors.
