Event Information:

Cost-effective methods that mitigate against rebar corrosion in an existing chloride contaminated bridge deck have been the research and property management objectives of many assets owners. 

This presentation will present corrosion mitigation strategies including corrosion prevention, corrosion control and cathodic protection to achieve lower life cycle costs and higher service life.

Liao Haixue, P.E., P.Eng.
CP Specialist 

Liao Haixue is a Professional Engineer registered in New York, United States of America and Ontario, Canada. He is president of Canada Structural Engineers Association. He is also a qualified presenter for American National Council of Structural Engineers Associations, certified continuing education program, "Evaluation, Repair, Protection and Strengthening of Existing Concrete Structures". 

He is a AMPP certified cathodic protection specialist, with extensive experience in reinforced concrete evaluation, repair, strengthening and protection. He also has more than 25 years-experience in post-tensioning installation, evaluation and rehabilitation. He is a committee member of Post-Tensioning Institute DC55.
