Tracey Caruana, P.Eng.
Manager, Engineering Intern Programs | External Relations
Professional Engineers Ontario
Tracey is a professional engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from McMaster University. She joined PEO in January 2014. In the role of Manager, Engineering Intern Programs, Tracey is part of PEO’s External Relations department and is responsible for providing guidance and support to post-secondary students and engineering graduates on their pathway to licensure. In addition, she oversees PEO’s legacy EIT Program, PEO’s Student Membership Program, and the 30 by 30 initiative.
Prior to joining PEO, Tracey worked at Hatch Ltd. for nine years, gaining exposure to numerous projects within the mining industry. She worked as a piping engineer for seven years specializing in non-ferrous hydrometallurgical process plants, and in management consulting for the remainder, where she provided financial analysis and due diligence to mining investors.
Sami Lamrad, M.Eng., P.Eng.
Lead, Pre-Licensing Outreach | External Relations

Sami is a professional engineer with a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Western University and a master’s degree from Toronto Metropolitan University. He joined PEO in May 2015 in the role of Licensing Representative ensuring all applicants met the experience criteria to be licensed as P.Eng’s. In his latest role as Lead of Pre-Licensing Outreach, he is currently facilitating the Engineering Intern Program and Student Membership program as part of PEO’s External Relations. This role necessitates travel throughout the province to connect with various stakeholders.
Before joining PEO, Sami worked in environmental consulting, where he was involved in the design and commissioning of data acquisition systems (DAS) for continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS), requiring him to travel extensively to remote engineering sites worldwide.
