About
Message from the Chapter Chair
As the Chair of the Peterborough Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), I am proud to share the many ways in which we support and promote the engineering profession within our community. Throughout the year, our chapter hosts a variety of events designed to engage members, students, and the public—ranging from technical seminars and industry tours to outreach initiatives that introduce youth to the world of engineering.
One of the cornerstones of our community involvement is our annual scholarship program, which supports local high school students entering an accredited university engineering program. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering the next generation of engineers and encouraging academic excellence.
We are also pleased to recognize and celebrate professional milestones. Each year at our Annual General Meeting, we host a special license certificate ceremony to honour newly licensed engineers. It’s a meaningful moment where new licensees receive their professional designation in front of peers, mentors, and the engineering community.
We invite all members, students, and supporters to take part in our activities and continue building a strong, engaged engineering presence in Peterborough and the surrounding area.
Sincerely,
Rishi Poddar
