Integrated Systems Testing – Ensuring Orchestrated Performance of Life Safety Systems

Everyone has been hearing this term called “S1001 Integrated Systems Testing” for a while now.  However, there are still a lot of misconceptions about what it is and what its intent is? How is it different from verification or commissioning? And most importantly, how is it enforced and executed?

In this presentation, we will start from the basics, explain what this “integrated systems testing (IST)” is, why is it required or enforced, and we will then do a deep dive to explore its implications using real-world case studies.  We will explain the difference between IST and verification, and also between IST and commissioning.  We will talk about IST’s applicability, and who is qualified to do the work.  Finally, we will touch on preparing the plan and carrying out the execution.
