About

Our Chapter

The Oakville Chapter encompasses the Oakville and Milton area, and has over 4,000 professional engineers, Engineers-in-Training (EITs) and volunteers that call it home.

Professional Engineers Ontario, or PEO, is the regulatory body that licenses professional engineers in Ontario. PEO sets standards for and regulates the practice of professional engineering in the province.

Under the Professional Engineers Act, PEO has the mandate to serve and protect the public interest where the practice of engineering is concerned. PEO enforces compliance with the Act so that only those with a licence may practice engineering or advertise their engineering services. The association also disciplines engineers and companies that fail to maintain the profession’s standards.

We do not have an office as we are a local organization made up of volunteers to run events for the registered Engineering Interns (EIT) and Professional Engineers (P. Eng.) of the Oakville-Milton area. Some things we do include networking, social events, technical tours, sessions with speakers, and new P. Eng. certificate presentation ceremonies.

Professional Engineers Ontario fulfills the same role the College of Physicians and Surgeons does for physicians and the Law Society of Upper Canada for lawyers.

Welcome Message from the Chair – 2026/2027

As Chair of the PEO Oakville Chapter for the 2026/2027 term, I am honoured to serve our community of professional engineers and license holders.

Our chapter plays an important role in supporting Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) in its mandate to regulate the practice of professional engineering and to protect the public interest in Ontario. I am committed to strengthening awareness of PEO’s regulatory role across Oakville and Milton, while ensuring our chapter serves as a trusted and effective bridge between PEO and local license holders.

I encourage you to get involved, attend events, and share your ideas. Together, we can enhance communication between PEO and our local license holders, ensuring that your voices are represented while fostering meaningful professional relationships within our region.

I also encourage members to consider volunteering with the Chapter. Your time, expertise, and perspectives are invaluable in helping us deliver impactful programs and strengthen our local engineering community. Whether you are new to the profession or a seasoned practitioner, there are many ways to contribute and make a difference.

I look forward to connecting with many of you throughout the year and working together to continue advancing the engineering profession in our community.

Sincerely,
Jeffrey Lee, P.Eng., FEC
