Willowdale Thornhill PEO Chapter: Expression of Interest 
for a Tour of OPG's Pickering Simulator Room
 
About the Event 

Willowdale-Thornhill PEO Chapter is organizing a technical tour of the OPG Pickering Simulator Room on 12 June 2026 from 12:00-15:00 + optional Q&A from 15:00-16:00.  This tour is in collaboration with the York PEO Chapter and Kingsway PEO Chapter. Each of the 3 participating chapters will be granted 16 attendee slots. 

Due to popular demand, a selection process is in place for registrants from the Willowdale-Thornhill Chapter (WTPEO).  The educational committee of WTPEO Chapter will collaboratively select the 16 attendees. The committee is composed of P.Eng. and EIT volunteers from WTPEO's Board of Executives.  Selection will be based on how the applicant can professionally and personally benefit from this tour. 

The application opens on 17 May 2026 and closes on 22 May 2026, attendees will be informed of the committee's decision by 26 May 2026.  If selected, the attendee will receive an Eventbrite invitation link with a personal code to enroll themselves, and pay the $20 attendance fee, which must be done by 28 May 2026.

Schedule:  

• Check-in and Lunch: 12:00-13:00 (Pizza lunch will be provided at the facility).  
• Tour: 13:00-15:00 (Participants will be divided into 2 groups; they will alternate between the presentation room and the simulator room).
• Optional Q&A: 15:00-16:00.

Requirements for Participation

Due to popularity of the tour and limited capacity for each visit there will be future opportunities arranged by chapter. 
Requirements: 1. Must be an adult (18-years and over). 2. Must be a P.Eng. license-holder or EIT in good standing.  3. Must pay a $20 attendance fee upon registering with the Eventbrite form.  4. Must arrange own transportation to the OPG Pickering Facility. If you are driving, you will need to provide your license plate in the Eventbrite registration form and also upon check-in at OPG.  5. If selected, one must have a valid photo-ID, whose number must be inputted into the Eventbrite registration form, and this same photo-ID must be ready to be physically presented to OPG staff.  6. The WTPEO Education committee will prioritize attendees who have not visited OPG facilities for a technical tour in the past 3-years.
