It's time to elect a new executive and chapter volunteers at our Annual General Meeting after which you may network with your fellow engineers. EITs and engineering students are welcome and eligible for positions too except for Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer.
A number of keen engineers we have met at events and License Ceremonies have expressed an interest in getting involved with chapter activities. It's a great way to contribute your time and experience on the Chapter Executive to achieve our common goals and to further develop your own professional skills.

A brief description of each volunteer opportunity is shown below. All positions are open for nomination. Nominees should be prepared to make a short speech (maximum 2 minutes) at the AGM when there is more than one candidate for which to vote.
Kingsway Chapter Board Positions 2026
OFFICERS
1. Chapter Chair (1): Eligibility requirements to be nominated are 1-year minimum active board experience. The chair is the chief administrative officer responsible for the growth and achievements of the chapter. The chair is responsible for assigning duties to the chapter's executive members, and supervising their work as the operating year progresses.
2. Chapter Vice-Chair (1): Eligibility requirements to be nominated are 1-year minimum active board experience. The Vice-Chair is an active assistant to the chair.
3. Chapter Treasurer (1): Eligibility requirements to be nominated are 1-year minimum active board experience. The Treasurer is the custodian of the chapter’s assets and financial advisor to the chapter executive.
4. Secretary (1) : Attend AGM, 4 annual chapter board meetings and participate in meeting agenda. Take meeting minutes and distribute to board in a timely fashion. Contribute to organizing and helping with other chapter events. The secretary is primarily the custodian of the chapter’s important documents and recorder of all activities of the chapter executive.
5. Past Chair (1) : The past chair is the key resource person for the new chapter executives and committees and plays a vital role in helping to plan and carry out the activities of the chapter. Ex-officio position.
EXECUTIVE
6. Assistant Treasurer (1) : Assist Treasurer to prepare budgets and chapter business plans, prepare year-end statements and book event venues. Contribute to organizing and helping with other chapter events. Take Treasurer training when offered by PEO.
7. Events Committee Chair (1): Schedule and coordinate chapter events such as speaker and tour events. Act as liaison to other chapter events committees for joint events and to advertise other chapter events. Recruit volunteers to aid with event planning and execution. Work with Education Committee Chair to help with organizing education events.
8. Events Committee Vice-Chair (1): Assist the Chair to schedule and coordinate chapter events such as speaker and tour events. Act as liaison to other chapter events committees for joint events and to advertise other chapter events. Recruit volunteers to aid with event planning and execution. Work with Education Committee Chair to help with organizing education events.
9. Education Committee Chair (1): Plan, organize and run Engineering Idol event and National Engineering Month (NEM) program, Engineer-In-Training (EIT) events, science fairs and other educational activities. Contribute to organizing and helping with other chapter events.
10. License Presentation Chapter Coordinator (1) : Obtain list of new licensees from PEO headquarters. Send out invitations to License Ceremony, print name badges and provide holders for attendees. Attend 2 annual ceremonies. Organize seating plan for recipients and usher them in order to receive their certificates and hand certificates to Chair to present. Encourage new licensees to participate in PEO and chapter activities by providing a friendly face for the Kingsway Chapter.
11. Communications Chair (1) : Collect information for chapter events, create content and send out by social media (i.e. Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) to create a chapter presence. Maintain Chapter website and Social media platforms and keep current and interesting to members. Contribute to organizing and helping with other chapter events.
12. Communications Vice-Chair (1) : Assists Chair to collect information for chapter events, create content and send out by social media (i.e. Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) to create a chapter presence. Maintain Chapter Website and Social media platforms and keep current and interesting to members. Contribute to organizing and helping with other chapter events.
13. Executive Member at Large (3) : Attend 4 annual chapter board meetings and participate in meeting agenda. Contribute to organizing and helping with other chapter events. This is a good way to get involved if you are unsure of committing to a particular role at this time.
CHAPTER VOLUNTEERS
1. Education Committee: Assist Education Coordinator with organizing and running Engineering Idol student event, National Engineering Month (NEM), Engineer-In-Training (EIT) events, science fairs and other educational activities. Take education training when offered by PEO.

3. Government Liaison Program (GLP) Chair (1): Develop relationships with local Members of Provincial Parliament (MPPs) and convey PEO's view on engineering issues that may be voted upon in parliament. Take GLP training offered from PEO whenever possible. Mentor GLP Committee.

5. Scholarship Coordinator (1): Liaise with local secondary schools to set qualification requirements for graduates enrolled in a university Engineering program, evaluate applications and award chapter scholarships. Make presentations at graduation ceremonies.
6. Licence Presentation Event Coordinator (1): Book event venue and liaise with staff to arrange plans for catering, floor plan and set-up. Send out invitations to PEO staff/councillors. Coordinate event with Kingsway, Etobicoke and Toronto-Humber chapters. Arrange a guest speaker to make a presentation to the new licencees.
7. Licensure Assistance Program (LAP): As an individual, be a mentor to an Engineering Intern in Training (EIT). Training and support provided by PEO. More information can be found here. (Open)
