About
Message from the Chapter Chair
Welcome to the Grand River Chapter! With over 5000 members, we are a thriving community connecting Waterloo Region and Wellington County.
Looking for continuing professional development opportunities? Join one of our Technical Symposiums. Do you have a passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion within the engineering profession? Connect with our 30 by 30 team. Are you working towards your Engineering License? Look for an upcoming event or information session hosted by our EIT team. Passionate about government and policy making? We also have a Government Liaison Program to bring our voice to the table.
Our Chapter is powered entirely by volunteers, including the executive team and committee leads. We would love to have you join our current roster of nearly 30 active volunteers. Volunteering is a great way to share your skills and experience, build your social network, and give back to the community!
I invite you to check out our new website, and learn more about the Grand River Chapter.

Awesome! We'd LOVE to have you join our family of active volunteers.
EVERY position at the Chapter level - including the Chair! - is a volunteer position, and we all started with this same question.
There are several ways to join our team:
- Join us at one of our "Volunteer Drive" nights (about 2/yr) and learn about the different committees
- Come out to an event and introduce yourself.
- Email the Committee Chair you are interested in supporting (email links are on the About Us page)
- Reach out to the PEO: [email protected] to start the formal process of volunteering
All volunteers will be asked to register with the PEO and are required to take on-line training.
-
Yes! Our executive board meetings are open to any Chapter member. We also regularly include student reps from University of Waterloo, Guelph, and Conestoga College and a representative from OACETT.
We meet once per month (excluding July/Aug) typically on the second Tuesday of every month unless there is a holiday or other conflict. Most meetings are in person but some are on-line.
Meeting locations vary, so the best option is to email us ([email protected] or [email protected]) to find out the timing and place for our next meeting.

First - CONGRATULATIONS! Such an awesome accomplishment.
Licenses are distributed by the PEO to the Chapter. We host formal license award ceremonies throughout the year. You'll receive an email from us when we've received your printed license and we'll invite you to the next awards ceremony.
Please wait for our email before registering for a licensing event on Eventbrite. It will take a little time for PEO to print and mail your certificates to us before we can pass it along to you.
If you have questions, feel free to reach out to our licensing co-ordinator ([email protected]) if you have questions.
