East Toronto Technical Tour - Metrolinx Union Station

Join the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) – East Toronto and York Chapters for an exclusive technical tour of Union Station hosted by Metrolinx on Friday, February 20, 2025.

This tour provides a behind-the-scenes look at the ongoing transit modernization projects at Union Station — the gateway of the Greater Toronto Area’s transit network. Participants will learn about multidisciplinary engineering and construction activities that support current operations and future capacity upgrades including two-way, all-day GO service and Ontario Line enabling works.

What’s Included:

• Part 1 – Construction Impacts: Approx. 40 min walking tour. Explore external construction impacts and heritage considerations.
• Part 2 – Engineering Impacts: Approx. 80 min walking tour. Topics include electrical system integration, structural works (“big dig”), and district energy systems to reduce CO₂ emissions.

Tour Details:

• Cost: $15 per ticket - the cost is collected and used by PEO; Metrolinx is providing this tour as part of community engagement.
