PEO Sudbury Chapter: Cruise on Little Current and/or Cup and Saucer Hike

10:15 am - 3:45 pm

Boat Cruise: North Channel Cruise Line, 1 Water St W, Little Current, ON (~1.5 hrs from Sudbury).

Hike: Cup and Saucer Trail Parking, Ontario 540, Sheguiandah, ON (~19 min from cruise).

PEO Sudbury Chapter Cruise on Little Current and/or Cup and Saucer Hike - Saturday, June 13th

Boarding on the cruise commences at 10:15am.

Boat Cruise: North Channel Cruise Line, 1 Water St W, Little Current, ON (~1.5 hrs from Sudbury). Light lunch will be catered by Prepped Manitoulin. https://northchanneltours.com/

Hike: Cup and Saucer Trail Parking, Ontario 540, Sheguiandah, ON (~19 min from cruise). The trail takes about 1.5-2 hrs. For more information about the hike, here is one of many links: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/canada/ontario/cup-and-saucer-trail

Agenda:

  • 10:15 - Boarding of Cruise, Cruise is ~2 hrs long
  • 10:30am – Departure of Cruise
  • ~12:30pm – Cruise returns to Little Current
  • ~12:30-12:45pm – Go to vehicles, depart from “cruise only” participants
  • ~12:45-1:15pm – Drive to Cup and Saucer Trail
  • ~1:30pm – start hiking the Cup and Saucer trail
  • ~3-3:30pm – complete hiking the trail
  • ~3:45pm – drive back to Sudbury, or participants can decide to do other things.

Be sure to bring water/water bottle, especially if going on the hike. I will bring some snacks for those who are hiking the trail. Another popular spot to go to on Manitoulin Island is Bridal Veil Falls, Billings, ON, which is ~14min past the Cup and Saucer.

Deadline to register is Friday, June 5. Of course, there is limited capacity for the boat.

Dress in layers, i.e., for wind and warmth.

Bar on boat, accepts cash, debit, Visa, and Mastercard.

There are three full-day municipal parking lots within a short 4-minute walk (approx. 300 m):

East Waterfront Lot – Located at the far east end of the waterfront, under the bluff near the large metal staircase.
LCBO Lot – Behind the LCBO at the corner of Meredith Street and Manitowaning Road (gravel lot at the back).
Lighthouse / Marina Lot – Head west on Water Street, turn into Boyle Marina at the lighthouse, then turn left into the parking field.
