Technical Tour #2 Evergreen Brick Works - Saturday November 29, 2025

PEOSC is organizing the second Technical Tour and Members Networking Event for 2025. This year, we will be visiting Evergreen Brick Works on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

Date: Saturday, November 29, 2025

Time: 12:00PM (sharp)

Meeting Point: Evergreen Brick Works (550 Bayview Ave, Toronto, ON)

 

Fee: $10 for all. Space is limited, first come, first serve. The first preference is the Scarborough Chapter Members and Chapter Volunteers. One member can register up to 4 family members.

Tour Itinerary (subject to change):

  • 12:00pm – Arrive Evergreen Brick Works @ Information Centre
  • 1:30pm to 2:30pm – History Tour (guided tour)
  • 2:30pm to 3:00pm – Break (30 min) and Networking
  • 3:00pm to 4:00pm – Nature Tour (guided tour)

Lunch: PEOSC will provide light lunch; Onsite Picnic Cafe open from 8am to 6pm

Parking: Paid parking is available onsite for $15 at east, central, or west parking lots at members own expense. PEOSC is not responsible for parking fees. 

 

Evergreen Brick Works: Originally built in 1889, the Don Valley Brickworks was a major industrial site that used local clay and steam-powered machinery to produce the bricks that built much of Toronto. After its closure due to depleted resources and shifting environmental standards, engineers and designers transformed the site into the Evergreen Brick Works. This site now incorporates sustainable design and green technology which demonstrates how industrial infrastructure can be re-engineered to serve modern environmental and community needs.
