Modern Wood Structural Manufacturing: SilvaSpan is a Canadian mass timber manufacturer known for its proprietary production of engineered nail-laminated timber (NLT) panels. As one of the first producers in North America to mass-manufacture finger-jointed NLT panels, SilvaSpan delivers a cost-effective structural solution for floor and roof systems, often used in commercial, institutional, and residential projects. The NLT panels incorporate up to 100% waste-diverted wood materials to maximize efficiency and sustainability. During the visit, Michael Krans (President of SilvaSpan) will be the speaker with Steve Norton (Production Specialist) available for Q&A. Attendees will tour both the timber production area and the NLT manufacturing area. The facility will not be in operation on Saturday however the detailed presentation on the production process will be valuable.
Simcoe County Forest Museum:The Canadian Festival of Old Cars at the Simcoe County Museum offers a lively celebration of automotive history, where visitors can experience the excitement of authentic pre-war vehicles as they start up and cruise through the museum grounds. Showcasing the craftsmanship and engineering of cars built over 90 years ago, the event provides a rare opportunity to see late 19th and early 20th century automobiles
