PEO Scarborough Chapter invites the Scarborough Chapter members to join in the 3rd Networking Event. This event is organized by the Scarborough Chapter to socialize and network with licensed engineers.

Please note that the registration is first come first served basis. The first 50 participants will be allowed to join the event. This event is mainly for PEOSC members. However, members from other East Central Region Chapters are welcome.

About the Presenter:
Lorraine Fraser, Ph.D., P.Eng., FEC is a multidisciplinary professional with extensive private-sector experience spanning product development, process engineering, quality, lean, and operations management. Her career has included leadership and technical roles across diverse industries, including oil and gas, consumer packaged goods, plastics, automotive finishes, chemicals, electronics, and food manufacturing.
She currently teaches at the college and university levels and remains active in consulting, conference presentations, and peer-reviewed research, with particular interests in sustainability, the circular economy, engineering design, and organizational performance.
Synopsis:
The presentation will connect sustainable engineering practices with emerging circular economy initiatives, including those being advanced by the City of Toronto, while highlighting the role of lifecycle engineering, design for disassembly, remanufacturing, and systems thinking in reducing waste and extending product value.
Particular emphasis will be placed on the construction industry, including engineering approaches to construction and demolition waste reduction, material recovery, modular design, adaptive reuse, and designing buildings for lifecycle extension and future disassembly.
The presentation will also discuss research findings related to organizational long-term orientation, sustainability leadership, and the financial implications of sustainable product design.
