Volunteer Information Session & Open House

Are you a P.Eng. who likes to make a difference? 

Are you looking for ways to give back to your civic and professional communities? 

Look no further than the PEO Quinte Chapter! 

Who: Whether you’re looking for a big or small commitment, whether you’re a new or experienced engineer - no matter where you work (Industry? Corporate? Entrepreneur?  Government? Retired?) we’d love to meet you!

What: We are hosting a volunteer information session and hope to see you there. Current chapter volunteers and staff from PEO head office will be on hand to answer questions about volunteering for the PEO Chapter Network and in Quinte specifically. 

Where: Fairfield Marriott Inn & Suites, 407 N Front St, Belleville, ON K8P 3C8 

When: May 30, 2026. Drop-in between 10:00 – 11:45 a.m. and chat with the PEO team. Info sessions at 10:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m.

Why: The Quinte Chapter supports PEO’s regulatory mandate to serve and protect the public by promoting engineering and STEM education and careers at area schools, mentoring new engineers and licence applicants, and providing engineering networking and professional development opportunities. We’re looking for volunteers to help engage the Quinte engineering community and increase the number and types of events that we host each year.

The chapter is currently involved in:

  • judging projects at the Quinte Region Science and Technology Fair;
  • providing support to local schools for building and testing popsicle stick bridges; and
  • evaluating submissions for a university entrance scholarship

Future networking and engagement opportunities include: 

  • developing professional development opportunities such as technical seminars and tours
  • partnering with PEO staff to offer “Pathway to Licensure” for prospective PEO applicants
