Energy Retrofits 101 -Lunch and Learn

11:45 am - 1:00 pm

Mamma Maria's Ristorante, Chatham, ON

"Energy retrofits" refers to a variety of activities centered around changing the way we use energy - using it more efficiently, using a different source, and sometimes using more. This includes modernized building envelopes, high performance mechanical systems and automation. Government and utility programming traditionally drive a lot of this work. Technology innovation, climate policy, and the vast amount of substandard housing is placing an even greater emphasis on it.

This presentation and discussion will provide a broad overview of the topic, how it ties back to professional engineering, and several real, recent examples of projects centered around changing uses of energy in buildings.
