2026 Bridge Building Challenge

The Brampton Chapter of Professional Engineers Ontario is proud to present the Popscile Bridge Building Challenge 2026

Design a POPSICLE BRIDGE and compete to WIN GREAT PRIZES and get recognized by your peers and Professional Engineers!

Open to All Schools within the Brampton Chapter Boundaries
Students can register individually or as a team, with a maximum of 2 students per team (one ticket per team).
All members of a team must be from the same division.
Junior Division = Grades 5 and 6
Senior Division = Grades 7 and 8

When: Saturday, March 7, 2026
Time: 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Where: Paul Palleschi Recreation Centre - 30 Loafers Lake Ln, Brampton, ON L6Z 1X9

Note: The final weight of the bridge must NOT exceed 240 grams

 

Sign-in will begin at 8:45 am, while testing is expected to start at 9:00 am (By Appointment Only)

How to Participate

  1. Register and pay fees before February 15, 2026.
  2. Build a bridge as per the specifications provided in the Rules document below.
  3. Bring the bridge, signed consent form and checklist to the event.

NOTE: Those who register also have the option to try out their prototype bridges on the bridge busters and ask questions of our engineers at a special trial run session.
