Popsicle Stick Bridge Building & Busting Challenge
Petawawa Civic Centre
On April 12, 2025, the PEO Algonquin Chapter hosted a Popsicle Stick Bridge Building and Busting Challenge in the Petawawa Civic Centre for students in grades 5 to 12 from across the Ottawa Valley.
Student teams designed and constructed their bridges with popsicle sticks and glue. Volunteers from the PEO Algonquin Chapter provided materials and instructions.
Volunteers from CNL also provided instructions and help.
Students watched their bridge being tested to the point of failure.
Another bridge is being tested in front of the students.
Professional engineers are setting up the testing equipment.
