The Registration Committee conducts formal hearings between the Registrar and applicants for licensure. Applicants who have received a Notice of Proposal to refuse to issue a licence from the Registrar may request a hearing by the Registration Committee. At a hearing, an applicant must demonstrate that the applicant who had received the Registrar’s Notice of Proposal to refuse, meets the requirements set out under the Professional Engineers Act and its Regulations, or, that the applicant should be granted an exemption and will engage in the practice of the professional engineering, with competence and integrity. If the applicant is successful in making that evidence, the Registration Committee can order that the Registrar issue to the applicant a licence, Certification of Authorization, temporary licence or limited licence.
