It is a new application process for professional engineers who already hold a P.Eng. licence from another Canadian engineering regulator. It replaces the former “P.Eng. Transfers Application” process.
The launch date is December 16, 2025.
If your application is complete, you will receive a licensing decision within 10 business days of submission.
The former process had a decision timeline of 30 calendar days and required applicants to submit a resume. The new process reduces the decision timeline to 10 business days from submission. A resume is no longer required.
Yes. All applicants must meet our licensing requirements and submit the necessary documents. Requirements are outlined on the Canadian P.Eng. Mobility Application web page.
Yes. Ontario’s new mobility legislation, which takes effect on January 1, 2026, allows licensed professionals who are certified out of province to apply to work in Ontario through a simplified process. The legislation allows for the issuance of a temporary “deemed certified” licence within 10 business days, with a decision on full registration made within six months. PEO will exceed these requirements by issuing a decision on a full P.Eng. licence within 10 business days, provided the application is complete.
No, a resume isn't required for the Canadian P.Eng. Mobility Application.
No. Instead of a temporary licence, we will grant a full P.Eng. licence to qualified applicants within 10 business days, provided their application is complete.
We will contact you by email to let you know. You will have 60 days to amend your application and will be permitted to make only one attempt to correct your submission.
Please visit our Canadian P.Eng. Mobility Application web page and follow the application steps.
