Those who do not have an undergraduate engineering degree from a program accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (non-CEAB) will have their academic qualifications assessed to determine if they are equivalent to PEO’s academic requirements for licensure.
The technical examination program consists of four exams:
- Two Group A exams from any engineering discipline
- One Group B exam from any engineering discipline
- One Complimentary Studies (CS) exam
Please note that the pass mark for all PEO exams is 50%. To pass the program, applicants must achieve an average of at least 55% on their technical exams.

Dates and Resources
PEO partnered with Engineers & Geoscientists BC and APEGA to deliver virtual academic/technical exam sessions. Exam sittings will be written online. Please review EGBC’s Status of Online Academic Exams webpage, which includes information and updates regarding the exam, including the timetable and list of supports.
Past Technical Exams
Would you like to review past technical exams to understand how they are set and organized? Past exams are available for download from EGBC’s Past Academic Exams webpage. EGBC employs the same technical exams as PEO.
Please note that past exams are for information purposes only and should not be utilized in place of comprehensive preparation for current exams. Answers are not available, and the formats of past exams may differ from those of current and future exams.
If there are no past exams listed for the exam you’re writing, one is not available.
Results
Technical examination results will be released approximately 45 business days after your exam date. Once the results are available, you will receive an email alert to log in to PEO's portal.
