The following is an important message for prospective P.Eng. applicants who a) have started, but have yet to submit, their licence application and/or b) have yet to submit outstanding required application documents and/or licence application fees for their prospective licence application.
As you may know, PEO is changing its licence application process as of May 15, 2023. You may continue to apply under the current application process as long as you meet the following deadlines:
- Deadline to click ‘submit’ on your application in the PEO portal: May 14, 2023 at 11:59 pm
- Deadline to submit all required documents to peng.submissions@peo.on.ca: May 26, 2023 at 11:59 pm
- Deadline to pay the licence application fee on the PEO portal: June 9, 2023 at 11:59 pm
Failure to meet these deadlines will result in your prospective application being deleted. If you choose to apply in the future, you will be required to submit a new application under the new licensing process. For the new licensing process, candidates must meet the academic and experience qualifications at the time they apply.
Engineering Intern (EIT) program changes
Please note: As of May 15, 2023, the EIT program, an optional program within the current P.Eng. licensing process, will no longer be offered to new applicants. The program is being phased out as it can no longer be offered through the new licensing process as it is inconsistent with new licensing requirements. Current prospective applicants (those who apply/have applied before May 15) may register to become an EIT under the current licensing process if they submit a completed P.Eng. application (including submission of all required documents and fee payment) by the above-noted deadlines.
