P.Eng. transfers from another Canadian engineering regulator

A person who is licensed as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) in good standing with another Canadian engineering regulator can apply to become licensed as a P.Eng. licence holder with PEO without repeating the regular licensing process.

Changes to the P.Eng. Transfer Application

The required documents to apply as a P.Eng. transfer have changed. Current transfer applicants will continue their licensing process as normal until further notice.

P.Eng. Transfer Application Form

To transfer your P.Eng. licence from another Canadian engineering regulator to PEO, please download and complete this fillable application form and send a signed copy with all required documents to peng.transfers@peo.on.ca.

If you are applying as a P.Eng. Transfer Applicant, please send your P.Eng. Transfer Application Form and required documents to peng.transfers@peo.on.ca for review.

If you already hold a P.Eng. licence from another Canadian engineering association/order, a national mobility agreement between all the provinces and territories allows you to move between provinces and territories without having to repeat the entire licensing process. PEO applicants who are licensed as professional engineers in good standing in another Canadian engineering association/ordre are not required to submit transcripts or write PEO’s National Professional Practice Examination (NPPE).

Please note, there is no mobility agreement for Engineers-In-Training or Engineering Interns (EIT), and EITs cannot transfer their EIT membership between Canadian engineering regulators. Only individuals who are a P.Eng. licence holder with another Canadian regulator can submit a P.Eng. Transfer Application

Please note: transfer applications from P.Engs with a restricted practice status in another province will be rejected.
