Engineering Intern fees

When you pay PEO fees, you’re contributing to the self-regulation of the profession. Fees are used to develop, maintain and enhance resources for applicants, EITs and licence holders.

Important changes coming to PEO’s Engineering Intern (EIT) program

The EIT program will no longer be offered to new applicants as of May 15, 2023. Since the required engineering work experience under the new licensing process must be acquired before applying, the EIT program—which was designed to assist applicants as they acquired work experience—is no longer sustainable in its current form.

We are pleased to continue to support current P.Eng. applicants enrolled in the EIT program. Current EITs may remain in the program as long as they continue their current licensing process.

We understand the value the EIT designation holds for prospective applicants, as well as engineering employers and local chapters. As such, PEO will consult with our stakeholders to determine other options for prospective applicants seeking to gain experience.

Please continue to monitor this webpage and the FARPACTA webpage for more information as it becomes available.

Note: All PEO fees have changed as of May 1, 2019. Applications received on or after this date, as well as examinations, are subject to the new fees. Annual renewals of all licences, certificates of authorization, engineering intern membership, and consulting engineer designations invoiced after May 1, 2019 will reflect the new rates. Click "PEO Fee Schedule" below to see the updated version as of  of May 1, 2019.

Please note: Fee remission for EITs is no longer available following a November 15, 2019 decision by PEO Council.  EITs currently on fee remission will continue under the remission until the next renewal billing.
