Certificate of Authorization Directory

Type:

CofA = Certificate of Authorization

TCofA = Temporary Certificate of Authorization

Licence Status:

Describes the specific licence status:

Active: Company holds a valid Certificate of Authorization licence in the province of Ontario.

Cancelled: Date Certificate of Authorization cancelled.

Revoked: Date Certificate of Authorization revoked.

Suspended: Date Certificate of Authorization suspended.

Resigned: Date Certificate of Authorization holder resigned licence.

                 Permission to Use:   

Firms that have permission from PEO to use the title "Consulting Engineers" in their corporate names.


Licence Holder/Engineering Intern Directory

  Licence/File Number:

Licence number or PEO file number.

Type:

P.Eng. = Professional engineer

EIT = Engineering intern

LL = Limited licence holder

- Limited Licence: Limited Licence holder (licence applied for pre-2015 Regulation change). May use the title LEL.

- Limited Licence – LET: Limited Licence holder (licence applied for post-2015 Regulation change) that also holds an active membership with OACETT. May use the title LET and may apply for Certificate of Authorization.

- Limited Licence – LEL: Limited Licence holder (licence applied for post-2015 Regulation change). May use the title LEL and may apply for Certificate of Authorization.

TL = Temporary licence holder

PL = Provisional licence holder

Licence Status:

Indicates that this person is a current licence holder and is licensed to practise engineering in the province of Ontario or is non-practising (retired, revoked, suspended, EIT).

Licence Status Description:

Describes the specific licence status:

Current: A current licence holder who is licensed to practise engineering in the province of Ontario.

Engineering Intern (EIT): A non-practising engineer in training who is not licensed to practise yet.

CancelledDate licence cancelled. Name, licence number, date of licensure, licence and academic profile still publicly available.

RevokedDate licence revoked. Name, licence number, date of licensure, licence and academic profile still publicly available.

SuspendedDate licence suspended. Name, licence number, date of licensure, licence and academic profile still publicly available.

ResignedDate licence resigned. Name, licence number, date of licensure, licence and academic profile still publicly available.

Practising status:

A status of practising is a declaration by the individual that he or she is engaged in the practice of professional engineering in Ontario.  

A status of non-practising indicates the individual has either self-declared they are not currently practising professional engineering (although they may be eligible to do so) or that the individual is not permitted to engage in the practice of professional engineering in Ontario. If a person is not permitted to practise professional engineering in Ontario, additional information will be included in the fields for licence status or terms and conditions.

A status of undeclared indicates the individual has not identified to PEO whether they are a practising or non-practising licence holder.

Date of licensure with PEO:

Date licence was first issued.

Designation:

The titles "Consulting Engineer" and "Building Design Specialist" are protected titles under the regulations to the Professional Engineers Act and may be used only by people so designated by PEO Council.
